From my Asian heritage to my Norfolk childhood I found inspiration for Roadscents. Most specifically Roserage was created with the huge rose garden my great-grandparents used to own in the tiny Norfolk village where they lived. Meanwhile in Suffolk, my father's parents - both immigrants, had created a kind of India/Myanmar like refuge in a thatched cottage surrounded by acres of woods. As a child I was blissfully happy in both places and the fragrances of rose, Jasmine, Sandalwood and Patchouli never fail to remind me of those two homes where I spent so much time, whilst growing up. When it comes to Wakeup Call, I wanted to recreate that uplifting feeling you get on the first morning of your vacation in Europe when the air is clean, the sun is shining and the sky is blue. There's a gorgeous scent on the breeze - you're not quite sure what it is, but you know it contains orange blossom and possibly some clean, green wood. Any which way, you are happy to be alive, on holiday and hopefully with people you love...
